Support from NDNA is based on the English childcare curriculum the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

What is EYFS?

Early Years Foundation Stage sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and registered early years providers in the UK must follow the EYFS, including child-minders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes.

It covers the following seven areas of learning and development:

Three Prime Areas:

*Language development  *Social and Emotional Development  *Physical Development

Four Specific Areas:

*Literacy  *Numeracy *Understanding my world *Expressive Arts and Design

The EYFS runs throughout the English childcare curriculum and NDNAbelieves it provides the best standard of childcare in the world.

It sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well, ensures children are kept healthy and safe, and that children have the knowledge and skills they need to start school.

The EYFS areas of learning include:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

As a nursery, following the English curriculum is a great selling point to parents and will set you apart from other nurseries.
